Blasted
#91 and the Jordan Maroon Gremlins were blown out by the Bingham
Miners Saturday in a Ute Conference youth football game tilt. The final score was 31-0, but it wasn't that close.
#91 continues to improve. He is holding his blocks at Tight End much
better, though he lost a few Saturday as the Miners were a superior team with better athletes. At Cornerback he is still
a bit tentative and isn't yet the confident tackler I think he will become. Overall the Jordan Maroon Gremlins played
as well as they have been, but it was just not their day.
No photos of this game, unfortunately, but there is a short highlight (lowlight?) reel just above this post. Look for more
coverage and better results next week!

Big Win for Jordan
The stars were aligned Saturday as the Jordan Maroon Gremlins took
the field against the Murray Spartans in Ute Conference youth football.
Jordan was in need of a win after the lopsided loss to
Alta last Saturday. Thanks in part to the contribution from #91, Jordan's starting tight end, Jordan scored on their
opening possession and never looked back.
#91 has loved football for a long time. Now eight
years old and eligible to play tackle football in the county we live in, he is living his dream. This is the kid who
sleeps with a football tucked under his arm every night. He is a fierce competitor, and thought he plays on a team with
many nine-year-old boys, who have a full year of experience under their belts, 91 is a battler and won the starting tight
end position.

If there was any doubt that #91 came to play, the photo above
should lay that to rest. The Murray defensive end is bigger than #91, but he was never able to beat #91 to make a play.
It was effort and intensity like this that powered Jordan to a big win over Murray 25-6.

Blowout
In a game that was not as close as the score would suggest, the
Jordan Maroon Gremlins suffered a beatdown at the hands of the Alta Hawks 21-0. Jordan could muster little offense and
was literally overmatched for much of the game. Chris continues to improve, showing more aggressivenss in blocking and
tackling. He loves the game and enjoys every minute.
We
have had fun as a family going to the games and being part of a group of families centered around the team. The boys
are making friends and forming the bonds made in team sports. The season is alreay 1/3 over and seems to be going by
very quickly.

VICTORY
The mighty Jordan Maroon Gremlins tasted victory Saturday as they defeated
West Jordan 6-0. The game was a defensive struggle as the Jordan defense, with significant contributions by #91 at Cornerback,
kept the West Jordan offense out of the end zone.
Chris continues to improve in this, his first season in organized
football. While occasionally tentative on both sides of hte ball, when going head-to-head with an opponent he holds
his own. His technique for blocking is improving and he is becoming more aggressive in hitting and tackling. He
loves football and enjoys being part of the team.
Check out the video above to see highlights of his
performance in this game.
